Programming XML and Related Technologies for Java (XM321)

Gain a working foundation to program applications using Extensible Markup Language (XML). Learn conceptual and practical knowledge of the concepts required to program XML based applications. Build basic skills to use XML and its related technologies in the context of building e-business applications. You will explore the features and benefits of IBM's premier development tool WebSphere Application Developer in the hands-on labs to create the XML based applications. Learn about Java Application Programming for XML Processing (JAXP), an abstraction layer for working with Simple Application Program Interface for XML (SAX), Document Object Model (DOM), and Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT) which allows the use of any compliant parser.
Beginning with all classes starting on April 28, 2003 the hands-on classroom lab exercises will no longer use WebSphere Studio Application Developer Version 4. They will be using WebSphere Studio Application Developer Version 5.
